How should you greet a rector at an official academic reception? And does splitting the bill after a shared meal really reflect “equity” in every cultural context? Although the PADMICA partners are already used to working in intercultural environments, there is always more to learn from one another through shared examples. This exchange of perspectives is at the heart of the project, as the consortium collaborates on developing modules that strengthen the intercultural competences of students participating in mobility programmes.
The PADMICA consortium held its Governance Board meeting on 14-15 April 2026 in Budapest, hosted by Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE). As the project moves toward its final phase, the meeting focused on reviewing progress and coordinating the activities that will lead to its completion. The pieces of the puzzle are falling into place, and the different elements of the project are coming together.
One of the next major milestones will be the Train the Trainers (TTT) event in May at the University of Porto. While consortium partners have already tested the TTT module internally, this will be the first time it is delivered to external participants. The event will allow the team to observe how the training works in practice.
Work is also continuing on the post-return intercultural reflection module. During the meeting, partners discussed the ongoing task of selecting the right case studies, an unexpectedly challenging process, as the examples need to meet several criteria while still reflecting real mobility experiences.
Preparations for the project’s closing conference, planned for October, are also underway. The event will present the project’s results and share the developed modules with a wider professional audience. More details will be announced soon, stay tuned!
A large session was dedicated to discussing sustainability. Partners explored how the PADMICA modules can be integrated into the regular mobility practices of the participating institutions, and how the project’s outputs can be made accessible and usable for other institutions as well.
As the final months of the project unfold, the PADMICA team continues to work closely together to bring its vision to life. With the Train the Trainers event approaching and the closing conference on the horizon, the coming period promises to be an exciting and productive chapter!
