How do consortium members see the state of play of the PADMICA project? The cards say it all! Champagne, a multi-coloured bridge, a table full of food, or an endless staircase all came to mind.
At the Governance Board meeting in Marburg on 20-21 November, we briefly reviewed the progress made so far and the challenges ahead.
The PADMICA project aims to develop intercultural preparation and debriefing modules to help students make the most of their mobility and develop their intercultural skills.
One of the most exciting upcoming activities is the local pilot testing of the in-person preparation module. The consortium members got a taste of it by trying out some of the exercises together. The very first session has already taken place at the University of Ghent, and it is great to see that participants have unanimously indicated that they would recommend the course to other students.
There was also a lot of discussion about how to integrate the online branches into the institutional learning management systems, and how to recognise the completion of the modules.
In the meantime, the development of the debriefing module has already started, in coherence with the preparation module, but with a focus on reflection exercises. The train the trainers module will follow soon.
After a productive and good-humoured meeting, we returned home with great experiences and a long to-do list. It is very stimulating to see the plans take shape and become reality. We can’t wait to share it all with you!
